Marvel has announced that they’ll be releasing the first trailer for The Avengers on Tuesday. Since the movie is still seven months away, I imagine there will be more title cards and graphics than actual footage, but one can hope. More than anything, I’m curious to see how Joss Whedon’s take on the Marvel Universe will differ from previous directors if at all. We know that Whedon can handle the dialogue and character relationships, but aside from Serenity, his directing experience is for the small screen and The Avengers is a movie with an epic scope.

The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson. The Avengers opens in 3D on May 4, 2012. (Source)

In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, each cast member was asked about their Avengers character. According to Mark Ruffalo, his Bruce Banner wants to join The Avengers, but because of his past and the group’s sort of overall fear of him, he’s the outcast among outcasts. Find out more below:

“He’s the most – guy, but a total loose cannon. No one wants to set him off except for Iron Man, except for Downey, who just wants to see him pop,” Ruffalo laughs. “It’s funny, there’s a really cool dynamic between Tony Stark and Banner. Banner actually enjoys it, and finds it really refreshing. They’re a lot alike in a strange way. They’re both these kind of scientists who are mavericks, kind of renegades. Banner, for all his mild-mannered mythology, he’s still the dude who was testing some pretty crazy s–t on himself, so he has that rebel streak in him.”

The Avengers hits theatres on May 10, 2012.

Gwyneth Paltrow will play a recovering sex addict in Thanks for Sharing. Stuart Blumberg, who is making his directing debut in the movie, admitted the four stars of the film about people dealing with an addition to sexual intercourse – which is also set to feature Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins – will be a “perfect” combination and he “can’t wait” to see them in action.

He said: “I couldn’t imagine actors more perfect than Gwyneth, Mark, Tim and Joely for this film, and I can’t wait to see them bring these characters to life with their unique and formidable talents.”

The film tells the story of a group of friends who are brought together through their shared willpower to overcome their troublesome addiction as they attempt to build meaningful relationships for the first time in their lives. Gwyneth is set to star as Phoebe, a businesswoman who plays for Mark’s character, and Joely will play Katie, the wife of Tim’s alter-ego.

Stuart’s Class 5 partner Edward Norton will be the executive producer of the movie, which will see Leslie Urdang, Dean Vanech and Miranda de Pencier produce for Olympus Pictures. (Source)

Margaret centers on a 17-year-old New York City high-school student who feels certain that she inadvertently played a role in a traffic accident that has claimed a woman’s life. In her attempts to set things right she meets with opposition at every step. Torn apart with frustration, she begins emotionally brutalizing her family, her friends, her teachers, and most of all, herself. She has been confronted quite unexpectedly with a basic truth: that her youthful ideals are on a collision course against the realities and compromises of the adult world. In theaters: September 30th, 2011
