Chris Hemsworth (Thor) was recently asked about rumours revolving around the upcoming Avengers film and whether or not Loki was the expected villain. Take a look below at what Chris had (or didn’t have) to say:

“I’m hearing rumors, too. Marvel – the safe house they’ve got – is very protective of what we say and what we don’t say, so I have to keep tight-lipped about it.”

The Avengers comes to theaters May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston. The film is directed by Joss Whedon. (Source)

Wanted: an actor to hit the gym regularly to be in shape for a comic book superhero role.

This year alone, several actors are hitting the gym to build muscles for their comic book roles. The partial list includes Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Christian Bale’s Batman and Tom Hardy’s Bane. Now actor Mark Ruffalo needs to hit the gym, but to lose weight and be in shape.

“Oh, baby. I’m getting hard!” said Ruffalo to EW after the Oscars. “I’ve lost 15 pounds and I’ve put another five on of just strapping, pure USDA beef.”

Ruffalo was named to play Bruce Banner/Hulk at the last San Diego Comic-Con International for the upcoming Marvel’s mega-superhero movie The Avengers.

Unlike the other superheroes, Ruffalo is aiming to be skinnier and not buffer.

“They want me mean and lean, but they don’t want me big and buff,” said Ruffalo to EW back in November.

According to EW, his workout routine probably includes Taekwondo, Pilates and some gymnastics. As for the Hulk, Ruffalo will be wearing a motion-capture suit to play the bulked up character.

Director Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers” will begin production soon. The film assembles the all-star superhero cast of Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Ruffalo as the Hulk.

The film is scheduled to be in theaters next year on May 4. (Source)

Director Joss Whedon and his band of heroes, including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) , Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson) will not be going into production on Marvel Studios‘ forthcoming team-up film, The Avengers until April.

Now, reports claim that Marvel has already cut a secret teaser trailer for the movie, which could be seen this summer before Thor or Captain America: The First Avenger. AICN reports that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is featured in that teaser trailer, and LatinoReview reaffirms that Loki will return in “The Avengers” as the main villain, and adds that he will use the “cosmic cube” from Captain America: The First Avenger to summon The Skrulls to invade Earth and battle The Avengers.

Although these reports are plausible, and the info is from reliable folks, all of this should probably be considered rumor for now. If it is all true, what do you think? Let me know in the comments.

The Avengers is slated to hit theaters on May 4th, 2012. (Source)

On the red carpet of last night’s Academy awards, Oscar-nominees and The Avengers co-stars Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner were asked about the upcoming superhero movie. Obviously, they barely said anything about the project because if you know anything about “The Avengers” before Marvel inundates us with marketing, the movie will be ruined. While both actors were mostly tight-lipped about the flick, Ruffalo did tell MTV that we should expect to see The Hulk and Bruce Banner in equal measure. He added that,

“There’s some great Bruce Banner stuff [in 'Avengers'], kind of a slant on him that we haven’t seen before,” said Ruffalo. “He’s introduced in a really great way.”

Renner told MTV that he had read the script for The Avengers and that it was “Tremendous.” He added, “I can’t tell you anything about it.”

Renner also commented on his rumored appearance in another Marvel movie. If you don’t want to be spoiled about that particular film, stop reading now.

As we reported last December, Renner’s Avengers character Hawkeye is rumored to make a cameo in Thor. Renner all-but-confirmed the rumor when he told MTV:

“I might [have a cameo in 'Thor'],” he teased. “Go see it. Check it out.”

However, it looks like he won’t be in his Avengers gear when he makes his appearance in Thor. Renner tells MTV that he has yet to see his Hawkeye costume.
