Director Joss Whedon is putting the finishing touches on Marvel’s The Avengers, which kicks off the summer movie season May 4. While the ensemble features an entire team of superheroes, the filmmaker revealed that most of the story will be told through the perspective of Chris Evans’ Captain America character.

Here’s what he had to say below:

“I set out with a very simple problem: There is no reason for these people to be in the same movie. So that’s what my movie has to be about. So much of the movie takes place from Steve Rogers’ (Chris Evans) perspective, since he’s the guy who just woke up and sees this weird ass world. Everyone else has been living in it.”

Marvel’s The Avengers comes to theaters May 4th, 2012 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Robert Downey Jr., Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston and Samuel L. Jackson. The film is directed by Joss Whedon. (Source)
